Contact Record 2.0 Beta

We are incredibly excited to launch our beta version of the brand new Contact Record for you! In this article, we will walk you through all of the things that it can do out of the gate, some of the things it cannot do, how to opt in to always see the new version when opening a Contact Record, and a general timeline on the next few enhancements that will be rolling out.

What is so great about it?

Well for starters, it LOOKS so much better than the current version. If you are more interested in functionality over fashion, then keep reading to see what we improved!

  • No more accordions 🙌
    • All of the Contact Information will now be visible as soon as you open up the page. This means that you can now move much more quickly to find key information when a contact calls in instead of having to click multiple times just to see an address or spouse name
  • Activity Overview section
    • On the current version of the Contact Record, the Email/SMS/Task window took up half of the page which made it very difficult to find information, especially notes, emails, texts, etc
    • With the Overview section, you can now see all activity as you previously could but you can also click on a slick new tab to view just emails, texts, notes, tasks, campaigns, or attachments
    • Additionally, by not having to load all the recent tasks, notes, emails, and texts every time the page loads, the speed of the page has improved DRAMATICALLY
  • Policy Carousel
    • The old way of viewing policies was not very easy on the eyes and it was hidden behind a click. This new section will show all the policies right at the top of the page where it's convenient to see and find
    • You will also be able to see more clearly which policies are Active and which ones are not just from a quick glance

Ok, that's pretty cool. What's the catch?

Ahh you got us, we couldn't improve everything overnight (as much as we wish we could) so there are some things that will come later. See below:

  • This will only work for PERSONAL contacts for right now. Commercial Contacts will still show the current layout
  • This won't show policy information downloaded from IVANS or uploaded via the AL3 Import Tool just yet. That one is a little bit trickier and will be coming later but it will absolutely be coming. There's a timeline at the bottom of this page on when editing those sections will be live for you over the coming weeks

We promised you a timeline, so here is a timeline!

Sorry, couldn't resist, that's not our timeline, that's the 2003 adventure hit, Timeline, starring Paul Walker, Frances O'Connor, and Gerard Butler (hit might be an exaggeration here)

Here is what our timeline looks like:

Display downloaded policy information (IVANS/AL3) : 1.24.2023 goal*

ACORD forms: 1.24.2023 goal*

*dates subject to change

Again, I just want to emphasize that you will still be able to do all of the things above, that has not changed. The only difference is if you are in the new record, it will open a new tab with the old record so you can make your edits, send your emails, etc. As we roll out the enhancements above, you will just do that in the new record without the new tab opening.

So which version do you want to see by default?

After reading everything above, if you think that the new record is what you want to see every time you open a Contact (and why wouldn't you??) then you can set that up in your profile Settings.

Start by clicking on your name

step 1

Next, click on Edit Profile

step 2

Lastly, switch the toggle to Beta Version ON or leave it OFF to keep the current view your default

step 3
